Ando AQ6317 optical spectrum analyzer repair
The original AQ6317 established Ando’s reputation for wide-range, high-resolution optical spectrum analysis. At 600 to 1750 nm with 0.02 nm RBW, it covered most optical communications and photonics test needs in a single instrument. These units are long past OEM support, but many are still running in labs that know what they have.
Grating motor wear is the most common failure on the AQ6317 - the sweep mechanism slows, stalls, or loses position, making repeatable measurements impossible. CRT display failure is the second most common problem: the tube dims, loses horizontal sweep, or flickers. Internal electronic failures are usually traceable to aging capacitors on the analog front-end or sweep control boards. Input connector damage from frequent use also shows up regularly.
Our repair process starts with a complete bench evaluation against known DFB references. We do component-level work on the boards - no module swaps - then clean and realign the optical path and monochromator. Calibration is NIST-traceable; the cal cert includes measurement data from before and after repair.
Flat-rate estimate: $100, applied toward the repair. Turnaround 1–3 days. Ships via FedEx, UPS, or DHL.
