Ando AQ6315A optical spectrum analyzer repair
The AQ6315A covers a broader range than most Ando OSAs - 400 to 1750 nm - which made it the go-to for labs that needed visible-wavelength coverage alongside the telecom bands. That range still has no direct replacement at the used-equipment price point. Ando support is gone; repairs come from independent service shops or not at all.
The most frequent failures we see on AQ6315A units are grating motor problems (sluggish sweep, stall, positional errors), CRT display aging (dimming, horizontal loss, or flicker), and wavelength accuracy drift. At 400 nm, the sensitivity drops off and the optics are more prone to contamination from broadband exposure; we see more internal fiber path contamination on visible-range OSAs than on telecom-only instruments. Board-level capacitor failures are common on units that are more than 15 years old.
We test each unit with calibrated sources across the full 400–1750 nm span, check sensitivity floors at both ends of the range, and verify grating motor performance with timed sweeps. All repair is component-level. Optical path cleaning and monochromator realignment follow. Final NIST-traceable calibration with cal cert included.
Flat-rate estimate: $100. Turnaround 1–3 days. International shipping available.
