Agilent 86142B optical spectrum analyzer repair
The Agilent 86142B is the B-revision of the 86142 series - refined wavelength accuracy, improved sensitivity, and updated electronics compared to the A model. It covers 1200 to 1650 nm for high-accuracy C and L band measurements, DWDM channel analysis, and amplifier testing. Keysight’s support window for the 86142B is closed.
Most 86142B failures fall into a few repeating patterns: grating assembly misalignment causing wavelength drift or erratic sweep, sensitivity loss from optical path contamination or detector aging, and boot-sequence failures on older units caused by power supply capacitors. Connector wear on the FC/APC input port is also common on units used in high-cycle production environments.
We test each 86142B with DFB references at 1310, 1550, and 1625 nm, verify sensitivity, dynamic range, and wavelength accuracy. Component-level board repair, optical path cleaning, grating alignment, and NIST-traceable calibration complete the service. Cal cert with before-and-after performance data included.
Flat-rate estimate: $100, applied toward repair. Turnaround 1–3 days. Ships FedEx/UPS/DHL worldwide.
