Agilent 86145A optical spectrum analyzer repair
The Agilent 86145A offers 600 to 1700 nm coverage with an unusually tight 0.060 pm RBW floor and built-in WDM measurement applications for OSNR, channel wavelength, and span tilt. The internal EELED broadband source for passive component testing makes it a self-contained instrument for many lab workflows. Keysight no longer supports the 86145A.
The 86145A’s extremely tight RBW capability makes it more sensitive to optical path contamination than broader-bandwidth instruments. Small amounts of particulate on the collimating optics or input fiber will skew measurements at the sub-nm resolution settings. Grating assembly wear causes wavelength drift that shows up first in the tightest resolution measurements. The internal EELED source can also degrade, reducing usefulness for passive component test. Boot and communication issues on older units are typically power supply or GPIB board related.
We test each 86145A against calibrated references, verify sensitivity, dynamic range, and EELED source output. Optical cleaning and alignment to factory tolerances, component-level board repair, and NIST-traceable calibration complete the service. Cal cert included.
